You say you want to see some photos, well, you know …

Spent a nice, although chilly, afternoon last Sunday at the Ballpark in Arlington with our friends Scott, Julie, their 4-year-old son Jack, and Helen and Peter. It was great to meet Helen’s friend Peter, and it was fun getting to hang out with everyone. Most of the game was spent trading favorite Beatles songs with Jack. He knows more than I do, for sure. His current favorite, he told me yesterday, is “Old Brown Shoe,” which I had to listen to on YouTube because I didn’t recognize it. For the record, my current favorite is “Blackbird.”

Check out a few more pictures from the game.

50-mile bike ride: It’s finally over

Actually, it wasn’t all that hot. They should call it the Windier’n Hell Hundred. But either way, we had a great time. We just rode in the 50-mile version of the bike race in Wichita Falls this weekend. They had about 11,000 riders there to do races ranging from 25 miles to 100 miles. Next year we’ll shoot for the 100K. Not sure we want to try the 100 miles until we invest in road bikes. We have a hard time keeping up on our mountain bikes! We felt great until about mile 35, when we hit a stretch of highway going into the wind. It was just five miles, but it felt like a lot more! But thanks to all the rest stops along the way with food and drink, we made it to the end in one piece. Anyone want to join us next year?
