18 months old: Updated stats, lots of new words

We finally made it in for Maya’s 18-month doctor appointment. We were a few weeks late, but here are her latest stats:
32.5 inches tall (75th percentile)
24 pounds 10 ounces (50th percentile)
18 3/4 inches head circumference (I think she said around the 90th)

She’s been a pretty steady grower, sticking right around 50th percentile for weight, and jumping between 50 and 75 for her height. I think the biggest change we’ve noticed since our last appointment is all of Maya’s new words that she’s using. We wanted to try to make a list so we can look back and remember what some of her first words were. But now we’re up to more than a few… but still, here are some of the words she uses consistently and Jason and I can make out.
Mama
Mommy
Dada
Daddy
Baba (Bailey)
Puppy (she has two blankies she loves and calls them both puppy, even though one of them is a frog. The other actually is a puppy.)
Outside
Hot
Bath
Shoes
Socks
Chair
Down
Bubbles
Bug (for some reason she HATES bugs. started this on her own without us telling her to hate them!)
Bottle
Nana (says this for her Nana but also for banana)
Hat
Please
Cheese
Cheerio
Chooo chooo (for a train)
Baaaaaaa (for a sheep and a cow, so still some work to do there)
Ra-ra-ra (dog barking)
Yow-yow (cat meowing)
Duck
Bye-bye
Night-night

It’s been lots of fun being able to communicate a little easier with the kiddo. It’s quite amazing what she understands these days.

Wow, Maya…..you are really getting big. And what a long list of words you know. Bet you are having so much fun talking with your Mommy and Daddy and Bailey too. We'll start working on "Grandad" when I see you next week. Can't wait.

    Love you,
    Grandad
