Getting close… And big!

We were back at the doctor on Friday. (We’re going every week now.) She said everything was looking good and my body seems to be getting ready for action! Some bad news though… she said Baby Crane is a big baby!

OK, so that’s not really bad news. As long as we have a healthy baby we’ll be happy. But “big baby” is never music to a mother-to-be’s ears! The doctor guessed that she’s about 7.5 pounds already, with two and a half weeks until my due date. Apparently this is something that can run in the family, and I was more than 9 pounds when I was born!

Doctor said she thought I’d make it another week, but she’s not sure beyond that. But she thought I looked way too comfortable to have the baby this week! I guess that’s a good thing.

But I am getting more uncomfortable at night. Seems a long day at work is taking its toll on me a little more the last week. But all-and-all, I’m still doing OK. Jason and I had a nice dinner out tonight to take advantage of what might be one of our last few weekends of peace and quiet! We’ll keep you updated if anything changes!

    Jason and Kari,

Thanks for the update. Sounds good and quickly approaching the due date. I could tell from my visit last week that you are both excited and ready to welcome your little girl to the world. Know it will be a special day for you. Can't wait to get the call.

Kari, take care it won't be long now. You will soon be holding a bundle of joy making these long 9 months all worthwhile. And Jason, you will be one proud Daddy. And I will be one proud Grandad beaming all the way from Shreveport.

All my love to the 3 of you...
    Grandad Jeff
