Our kitchen is almost complete

Kari and I (OK, mostly Kari) have been putting up our new backsplash here and there over the past week or two. It looks awesome, and we’re very close to finishing. A few more tiles to put up and then we’ll put on the grout, hopefully this weekend.

Once we finish with this project, all that will be left is getting new appliances, someday. It’s been our first real home improvement project, and overall we (right, Kari) have done a pretty darn good job, we think, for not all that much money. Here’s a look back at the new floor and the old ceiling.

Guess we didn’t chronicle all of it, but we also put in new light fixtures, painted the walls, put in new countertops and a new sink, stained the cabinets and replaced the cabinet hardware. Not bad in a year and a half.

When you’re done there, head over to Columbia. We’ll pay for the plane tickets if you’ll do the same for our kitchen…IMPRESSIVE! Do you guys do roofs?

I am so impressed with all you’ve done! It all looks so great! Did you put in the counter tops yourselves????? That’s what I want to do….soon….but not myself, of course. Maybe ya’ll could start a business on the side and help out family members….for a price, of course!

Bailey and Simon remind me of Angel and Sadie….the large and small of it!

Jason, hope you took your birthday off!!!

Love, Sandi

Kari, do believe you get the credit on the remodeling even though some of your talents must be “spilling over” to Jason. I am really impressed on everything that you have done with your kitchen. And now with a new roof (compliments of Mother Nature and your insurance co) I am sure you will be looking for a new project to build on your “sweat equity”. By the way, have you considered a “you-tube” video series on home projects for couples. May be a “hit.”

Love,
Dad
