Well, it was the end of April last year when we lost a huge tree in our front yard. This year we didn’t even make it that long, and this time the storms got us worse. A huge tree on the side of our house split in half and fell on our house. Finally made it up into the attic this afternoon and there’s a big hole in the roof. So let’s hope we don’t get anymore rain before we can get the tree removed and the roof repaired!
We all woke up during the storms (Bailey was wondering what our problem was. He can sleep through anything) but we had no idea a tree was on our house unil the next morning. At least we’re all safe. Bailey is mad though. He can’t play in the back yard. Some other downed limbs knocked the power lines down and they’re laying in our yard. Anyone have an in with the power company? We have to thank our great neighbor across the street who’s letting us and our two next-door neighbors plug into her power. So at least we have a light!

And look, Bailey is famous! I knew he was meant to be a show dog. He made an appearance on the Star-Telegram blog this morning:

Hey guys!
Sorry to hear about your roof. Maybe you should stop fighting nature's obvious plan for your home, and just build a tree house…
Stay safe and come visit soon

YUCK!! A TREE!! That is no fun! We lost a tree in a tornado, but luckily for us it fell away from the house and took the fence down with it!! Sorry you guys are going through this and with no electricity! Hope it is all fixed by now.
By the way…Bailey is HUGE!! The picture with the Christmas tree…I couldn't believe it.
Take care.
love, Patti
Jason and Kari….so sorry to hear about your storm damage. Know what it's like to have "raining trees" as that has happened to us before too! Tell Bailey he needs to be a better "watch dog" and let you know when the sky is falling!
Just checked with Rene' about any help he could offer, and he said his contacts over there have long since retired….now, if only you lived in Shreveport…..
Hang in there…this is definitely one of the downsides of home ownership.
Love, Sandi
P.S. Shame on you for that April Fool's joke!
Hey guys- sorry about your luck with trees. . . hope you are able to get it all worked out soon. Glad there wasn't any more damage and that you are ok. Tell Bailey his pic is quite good.
Oh- and when or if ever Ford will have a cousin on the way we look forward to the creative way you will share. I'm guessing it won't be through your website since we will all think it's another joke- too clever. Till then. . . enjoy your sleep (ours has been lacking to say the least).
